Privacy Policy

The data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.

DAK operates under two legal entities. DAK COFFEE ROASTERS BV is the controller for the online shop, roastery and wholesale: Nieuwendammerdijk 526M-3, 1023 BX Amsterdam, KvK 92174973, VAT NL865917292B01.

DAK SHOWROOM BV is the controller for the showroom, retail and hospitality at Bellamyplein: Bellamyplein 16H, 1053 AS Amsterdam, KvK 94853479, VAT NL866914134B01.

When you place an order, we collect your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address, phone number, order details and payment confirmation. We do not see or store your full card number.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we record your email address, the date you subscribed, and whether you open our emails or click their links.

If you create an account, we also store your preferences and a securely hashed version of your password.

We collect information about the pages you visit, your device type and your approximate location based on your IP address. We use this information to produce overall statistics. We do not sell your data.

We use your details to process your orders, answer your questions and send emails about your purchases or account.

We send you our newsletter if you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter at any time.

We use overall browsing statistics to understand how people use our website and where we can improve it.

We share your name, delivery address and contact details with DHL or GLS so they can deliver your order. We share your data with third-party service providers like WooCommerce and Mollie which are needed to operate our platform, including Resend for transactional/marketing email delivery and payment processing. These providers process your details only to perform these tasks on our behalf. We also share information with public authorities when we are legally required to do so. We do not sell your data.

Under the EU GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data and ask us to correct or delete it. In certain circumstances, you can also ask us to restrict its use, object to how we use it, or request a copy in a format you can transfer to another provider.

Each request must include a copy of a valid ID with your signature and an address where we can contact you. We respond within one month of receipt; complex or numerous requests may extend this to two months.

You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

We use functional cookies to keep you logged in and remember what’s in your cart. We also use anonymised analytics to understand how often people visit our site and which pages they view.

When you visit the site, we inform you about the use of cookies. By continuing to use the site you accept their use. We remember your cookie preferences for thirteen months, unless you change them or clear your cookies sooner.

We keep your personal data for as long as we need it for the purposes explained in this policy, or as long as the law requires. Once it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can request earlier erasure at any time (see paragraph “05 Your rights” above), unless retention is required by law.
